Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) is a clean denitrification technology used when flue gas temperature cannot reach 850°C. It involves injecting ammonia/ammonia water into the flue at the furnace outlet, where thoroughly mixed ammonia and NOx undergo redox reactions within a catalyst to remove NOx. It is a mature denitrification technology applied under low-temperature conditions or when in-furnace denitrification is unsuitable.
SCR denitrification technology is currently the most efficient method for reducing NOx emissions, with a denitrification rate exceeding 80%. In practical applications, our company uses low-temperature denitrification catalysts that maintain high catalytic efficiency at temperatures above 200°C.
The SCR flue gas denitrification system employs ammonia/ammonia water as the reducing medium. The main components of the SCR unit include the catalyst reactor and soot blowing system, ammonia storage and preparation system (ammonia pyrolysis system/ammonia water unloading system), pressurization system (air pressurization & reducing agent pressurization), and the reducing agent injection system.
The basic principle involves injecting qualified ammonia/ammonia water into the flue, thoroughly mixing it with the original flue gas before entering the reaction tower. Under the action of the catalyst and in the presence of oxygen, ammonia selectively reacts with NOx (mainly NO and NO2) in the flue gas to produce harmless nitrogen (N2) and water (H2O), achieving denitrification.
